Helping my mother move out of New Jersey was a big deal, since she hasn’t moved in over thirty years. For example, she still had my bike from when I was a kid in her garage, and after a thoughtful minute and a shared story about learning to ride it, we put it into the donation pile and moved on.
This process quickly turned into a routine for us, but it still managed to be quite intensive. What’s more, is because we were obviously packing up the house, we weren’t really able to stay there comfortably.
