The great martial arts repository of knowledge and museum in Tallahassee FL has been one of the best destinations that I have ever spent time in to date. Being somewhat of a new student to martial arts, it has taken my heart over completely. I feel like I have been studying all different styles and histories ever since I got acquainted with it a little while ago. I simply cannot get enough.
It is surprising to me, considering the many blockbuster movies and general fascination with martial arts that western culture has had for the past few decades, that I have not been really exposed to this art form before. However, I am infinitely grateful that I have now found this new passion.
Somewhat serendipitously exposed to martial arts by happenstance, it could not have worked out better how I first came in contact with the sport. Here I was, minding my own business at a work convention, when I accidentally went to the wrong convention hall and was greeted by a martial arts studio convention.
Stumbling upon this martial arts gathering, I felt suddenly like a stranger in a strange land, but at the same time felt excited and at peace. The people that I met there were incredibly welcoming and helped me to understand some of the very basic fundamentals of martial arts and encouraged me to learn more about what they were doing at the convention center.
I suppose the rest is history when I more or less blew off my work obligation and spend the next three days with this martial arts convention instead. Fast forward to now, and I am looking forward to spending more time in Tallahassee FL so that I can immerse myself once again in martial arts history.
